На собрании представителей беженских лагерей г. Омска, состоявшемся 27-го минувшего августа в помещении 1-й женской гимназии, пунктом третьим было постановлено «образовать из мусульман, пожелавших встать на защиту своей веры, особые отряды при дружинах Св. Креста с особым зеленым знаменем».
Ввиду сего, для обсуждения вопросов по организации особых мусульманских добровольческих отрядов и обслуживанию нужд фронта, состоялось там же, под председательством беженца из г. Осы М. Вахитова, 31 августа, собрание мусульманского духовенства и мирян — беженцев и местных лиц. Ораторы мусульмане — Вахитов, Сафа-хазрет, Юсупов, Адутов и др., исходя из учения ислама и излагая собственные впечатления от насилий и зверств красных, призывали единоверцев встать на защиту веры и отечества от большевизма. Во время собрания была открыта запись добровольцев. Собрание приветствовали: представитель начальника вновь формируемых добровольческих частей ген. Голицына, представитель старообрядцев — Дробинин и от братства Св. Гермогена — А. Эрахтин, которые выяснили единство мусульманского религиозного движения против красных с христианским, — с формирующимися уже дружинами Св. Креста, православными и старообрядческими.
Так как многие мусульмане не знали об этом, наскоро созванном собрании и потому не явились, собрание постановило сойтись вновь 7 сентября, в этом же помещении. Для оповещения населения путем печати и воззваний о предстоящем собрании и выяснения вопроса об особых офицерах-мусульманах для мусульманских отрядов образована комиссия из четырех лиц — Габдул-Карима хазрета, Абайдуллина, Адутова и Сафы-хазрета. В праздник Курбан-байрама, 5 сентября, имамы скажут в мечетях соответствующие поучения. Постановлено также ходатайствовать о продлении срока для записи добровольцев-мусульман со 2 сентября, как просило об этом верховного правителя общее собрание беженцев 27 августа, до 7 сентября, так как большинство мусульман, за отсутствием в Омске татарской газеты, совершенно не знало о постановлении указанного общего собрания беженцев 27 августа.

At a meeting of representatives of refugee camps in the city of Omsk that was held on 27 August in a room at Women’s Gymnasium No. 1, regarding the third item it was resolved “to form from the Muslims who wished to come to the defense of their faith special detachments under the Holy Cross squads with a special green banner.”
In view of this, a meeting of the Muslim clergy, laymen refugees and local people was held in the same location on 31 August, chaired by M. Vakhitov, a refugee from the town of Osa, to discuss questions regarding the organization of special Muslim volunteer detachments and serving the needs of the front. The Muslim speakers – Vakhitov, Safa-Khazret, Yusupov, Adutov and others – proceeding from the teachings of Islam and presenting their own impressions of the violence and atrocities of the Reds, called on their fellow believers to come to the defense of their faith and the fatherland against Bolshevism. Enlistment of volunteers opened up during the meeting. The meeting was welcomed by: a representative of Gen. Golitsyn, the commander of the newly formed volunteer units; Drobinin, a representative of the Old Believers; and A. Erakhtin, from the St. Hermogenes brotherhood, all of whom clarified the unity of the Muslim religious movement against the Reds with the Christian movement – with the Holy Cross squads, both Orthodox and Old Believers’ squads, which are already forming.
Since many Muslims did not know about this, they did not appear at the hastily convened meeting, and the meeting resolved to reconvene on 7 September, in the same room. A commission comprised of four members – Gabdul-Karim Khazret, Abaidullin, Adutov and Safy-Khazret – has been formed to notify the population through the press and appeals announcing the forthcoming meeting and to clarify the question of special Muslim officers for the Muslim squads. On the Kurban-Bairam holiday, 5 September, imams will deliver the relevant sermons at mosques. It was also resolved to petition for an extension of the period for the enlistment of Muslim volunteers from 2 September, as the general refugees’ meeting on 27 August requested of the supreme ruler, to 7 September, since most Muslims, due to the lack of a Tatar newspaper in Omsk, did not know anything about the resolution of the aforementioned general refugees’ meeting of 27 August.
