Dear Cdes.!

I have heard that the “leftists” intend to … Comrades Khid. -- Al. and Rakhim…. If this is correct, then I must warn you that the CC will intervene in the matter in order to preserve peace in the organization. There are not so [sic] few people in Turk[menistan], especially local people, that it would be criminal to refuse the use of workers like

<<l.2>>

kk Khid.--Al. Objections concerning the translators are not at all convincing. In Moscow in the most important posts, for example (chief of Staff …), there are  not only former people like this and people with a past such that in comparison with them your translators might seem utterly immaculate. You must remember once and for all that we need people not only to lead the party organization, where Commun[ist] purity and an irreproachable past are mandatory, but also for running the country, where there may and should be

<<l.3>>

used all and every kind of worker suitable in the practical respect. The mistakes of the “leftists” …are that they often lose sight of this last circumstance, they do not always understanding that without the use in Sov[iet] posts of people who are not wholly steadfast in the party respect, it is not possible to administer the country given our shortage of people. If the Turk. organization One can scarcely dispute the fact that workers like kk t.  Kh.—Kh. might bring Turk[estan] tremendous benefit and that pushing away workers like that can only be done by people

<<l.4>>

who do not understand the full complexity and gravity of the issue of the country’s administration. I am not talking about Cde. Rakh, party…it is beyond doubt whose “fault”... consists in the fact that he doesn’t want to lose the work of people workers needed for the cause such as Cde. Kh.--A.

I ask you once again to take all measures to make sure peace is preserved in the organization.

With Comm. greetings,

I. Stalin
